This historical fiction takes place at the time of the historic fight of Jack Dempsey, and Gene Tunney. William is a young boy who wants to play with his friends, but he can’t play because he has to help support his seven other siblings. Although this is a completely fictional story, the famous boxing fight is a precise account of the events. After the end of reading this story, I felt like the story did not leave a strong impression on me. The story is supposed to be motivational, but I just felt as if the story was empty and lackluster. ( ) Summary: Paperboy is exactly about what the title states; a paperboy. The story takes place in 1927 and is about a how Willie, the paperboy, wants his hero to win a major boxing match. He wants to be the first boy to sell the paper with his hero on the front page. SR: The book did not flow nicely at all. But did have a little suspense as the result of it being a sports book. The pictures looked like they were painted in the 20s. This helped add to the story a little, but overall the book was not very interesting. TR: Paperboy is a book that I would use if my student was very interested in boxing or sports in general. But I would only use it if I nothing else interested my student. The book wasn’t one of the best written books at all. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
