So Why Are You So Scared?

Twenty years ago, Dennis Danson was arrested and imprisoned for the brutal murder of a young girl. Now he's the subject of a true-crime documentary that's whipping up a frenzy online to uncover the truth and free a man who has been wrongly convicted.
A thousand miles away in England, Samantha is obsessed with Dennis's case. She exchanges letters with him, and is quickly won over by his apparent charm and kindness to her. Soon she has left her old life behind to marry him and campaign for his release.
When the campaign is successful and Dennis is freed, however, Sam begins to discover new details that suggest he may not be quite so innocent after all.
But how do you confront your husband when you don't want to know the truth?
The winner of the Daily Mail First Novel Competition, Amy Lloyd's The Innocent Wife is gripping psychological suspense from a brilliant new voice in crime fiction.

Love on death row - how you can never really know someone!
I have always been intrigued by the psychology of women who answer those ads, "Innocent death row inmate seeking true love" and i would say that this gives a pretty believable insight, What makes someone want to risk everything to start a relationship with a convicted murderer, let alone marry them?

Once you start reading this book you will find it impossible to put down. With every page comes a new revelation.
The characters feel real, the story believable and it really is a fascinating read. Plus its always nice to read a book that is quite unique to anything else i have read for a long time.
I wouldn't hesitate recommending this book to anyone! ( )

The Innocent Wife by Amy LLoyd

Dennis Danson was charged and convicted of murder, imprisoned for 20 years. Carrie is filming a true-crime documentary on Dennis. Samantha (Sam) becomes obsessed and starts writing to him. Carrie, Samantha and many (other people) feel he is innocent.

Sam marries Dennis and not long after their marriage is official, he is released. They being their married life. It does not take long for Sam to realize this is not how she expected it to be. Her life is about to change forever.

An original story with a very interesting plot. Moving at a steady pace with well developed complex characters. Carrie is fun, perky and a nice person. Sam is sweet, a bit naive, often misunderstood. Dennis is a bit of a mystery, with oddities, peculiar behavior and unknown past.

With many secrets (slowly revealed), twists, turns and surprises, I was hooked from the first page, until the last. Overall I found The Innocent Wife , thought-provoking, thrilling with edge-of-you-seat moments. I highly recommend to those who enjoy a good psychological thriller. ( )
