This book offers straightforward, uncomplicated description of Aristotle’s philosophy, historical context and influences. This is not a narrative biography that emotionally connects with the reader, rather it is a nice description for someone new to the field of philosophy. It provides lots of pictures, which demonstrate his tremendous influence over the ages as well as a map, a glossary, a timeline, and famous quotations. The introduction was a bit dense in its description of ancient Greek history, but the rest of the book is accessible and interesting. It is a good book for a student who knows little about philosophy and wants an overview of Aristotle. ( )
