Belbum is a giant. Like most giants, he is very good at stomping, napping, and losing things. One day he loses something especially important, though: his only pair of pants. After searching high and low, Belbum sets off to ask his friends whether they have any pants he can borrow. But the cyclops only wears tunics. The gnome's pants, stretchy as they may be, are far too small for Belbum. And unicorns don't even wear pants. There's only one thing left for Belbum to do: walk to the tailor in town . . . in his underwear! From the author-illustrator of The Great Thanksgiving Escape comes an enchantingly silly tale about forgetting your things -- and holding your head up high. -- amazon.com… (més)

Amusing book with good opportunities for voices and laughing. ( )

A goofy story about a giant who lost his giant pants. Its a linear story of Belbum the giant going place to place looking for his pants. After being angry and embarrassed, and finally going to get new ones, he finds his old pair was at home the whole time. While it is sure to grab giggles at his pantlessness, it can be used to address thoroughness. If Belbum had looked harder for his pants, instead of getting angry, he would not have been embarrassed by going out without pants. ( )

This is a good book for young children, it has many fictional characters and a funny storyline. The giant only has one pair of pants and loses them, so he goes to all of his friends house to see if they have anything he can wear. This book could be used to teach differences in sizes and could also be used to teach children to keep their personal spaces clean. ( )

Belbum the giant has lost his pants! He searches all around his house trying to find them because he only has that one pair. Once he has torn up his entire house looking for his pair of pants, Belbum decides to go and ask his friends the cyclops, the gnome, and the unicorn, to see if they have seen his pants. They each offer him other options since none of them had seen Belbum's pants, but nothing works. Belbum finally decides to go visit the tailor in town and have new pants made, this time with extra pants. Belbum gives a pair of his new pants to each of his friends just in case he ever loses them again. After going home for the night and cleaning up the mess he made previously, Belbum goes to put away his new pants...and found his old pair. "Giant Pants" by Mark Fearing is a fun read for younger children with pictures big enough to fit a giant! There is a hidden message of friendship and teamwork, as well as keeping things clean in order to find what you need. ( )

This is the story of Belbum the giant. He has a huge problem. He has misplaced his pants! After searching high and low for his pants, he decides to ask some of his friends if they have any pants that he can borrow. He asks Cyclops, who only wears a tunic, the gnomes’ pants are too small and unicorns do not wear pants. Belbum must face his biggest fear and walk to the tailor shop to have a new pair made for him. This is a humorous story about forgetting things and facing your fears all at the same time. I would recommend this for any collection. The story is funny and the characters will make you laugh out loud. The illustrations are oversized and help to make the reader feel like they are following the story of a giant. ( )
