Summary: This book illustrates the life of a dandelion seed, from the time it leaves a dandelion to the time it creates ts own seeds. Throughout the book we different animals and seasons which impact the plant.

Personal Reaction: I really didn't have any strong feelings toward this book, other than the fact that information is provided in a simple, easy to follow way for children, which I liked.

Classroom Extensions:
1. Use this book as a small intro to ecosystems. How do the actions of one animal affect the life of another plant or animal? How did the dandelion grow with the help of or in spite of the plants and animals around it?

2. Look at the different parts of a dandelion. Compare it to pictures of other flowers and weeds. What makes it different and what are its different parts? Have students draw and label a dandelion.

Summery:
A detailed summery of a dandelions life cycle.

Personal Response:
I never really knew what exactly happened in a dandelions lifecycle and I thought the book was very informative and interesting.

Classroom Extension:
go on a field trip to outside and pick dandelions.
draw pictures of dandelions and label the certain parts of the dandelion.

Summary: The book gives information about the life cycle of a dandelion. It shows the dandelion starts as a seed and finishes as all kinds of little white fluffy seed that blow in the wind. The book illustrates this so the reader can actually see the cycle and see that once the seeds blow away more will grow in their place.

Personal Reaction: The book allows children to see the life of a dandelion without making it dry and boring. The book provided interesting situations of what may occur during the life of a dandelion.

Classroom Extension:
1. Each student can plant a dandelion outside the classroom and watch it grow through the school year.
2. The class can go on a walk to find dandelions outside.

Summary: This book talks about a dandelion's life and the process it goes through. It talks about how seeds blow through the wind then eventually a dandelion grows and a yellow flower forms that attracts bugs then later on the dandelion produces seeds of its own that fly through the wind causing more dandelions to grow.

Personal Reaction: I feel like this is a good book for children because living in Oklahoma it's hard to go anywhere in the spring without seeing dandelions everywhere and after reading this book they'll finally recognize them and be able to name them and tell their parents all they learned about this plant. It's a book that children can take something from

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. You could have children go outside and find dandelions and other "flowers" they see and try to find the names of those and look up their history
2. You could have your children plant flowers of their own after learning more about flowers and what flowers need such as water, air, and sunlight.
  ChelseaRenee | Apr 21, 2013 |
Summary: This book is all about a dandelion that gets planted and it grows and many bugs suck its nectar and then it changes in the summer from a flower to a ball of seeds and the process starts all over again.

Personal Reaction: I really liked this book because it was an easy read, the pictures were very nice, and it was interesting. It also has a nice glossary in the back.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. My class could go outside and observe the dandelions.
2. My class could plant dandelions.
