Unmask the next thrilling chapter in this tale of Scooby-Dooby-Doomsday in SCOOBY APOCALYPSE VOL. 2, from the mind of comics superstar JIM LEE, written by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis, with art by Dale Eaglesham and others! Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo have gotten mixed up in a lot of spooky shenanigans over the years. But it's been nothing a trip in the Mystery Machine, a handful of Scooby Snacks and a little meddling couldn't fix. Until now. Suddenly the horror is real, the world has been transformed into a zombie-filled wasteland and the gang is on the run. But what if the cause of the apocalypse is one of their own? The gang's resident brainiac Velma has been hiding a dark secret, one that could change the fate of the world-and separate her from her friends forever. Can Scooby and the gang put aside their differences and save humanity from destruction? Or will they uncover an even more terrifying truth? As Velma herself would say, jinkies!… (més)

What seemed to be a decent story, is turning to crap pretty quick I think. Where do I even start? Well first the art needs to stop changing and at times it's within the middle of a scene. This whole book needs a new editor. It's really choppy at times. Also, the obvious reference to Trump isn't amusing or creative at all, it's just stupid and doesn't work. I'm not sure how this comic book is still lasting and not sure I even want the third volume anymore. For someone who's seen nearly all the incantations of Scooby-Doo (even the bad ones) this is one of the bad ones. ( )

This book felt much more drawn out than book 1. Way more action and much more bickering. There were some interesting revels, and parts like with Scrappy that make you have all the feels: anger, sadness, maybe just a little hope. This book really felt like filler to move the story along and introduce new characters needed in the next few titles.

This is a weird-ass spin-off, but still is a little satisfying. Scooby Apocalypse volume two, picks up right where the first volume ends. The gang is trapped in Mall-Mart surrounded by monsters. In volume one, Velma's nanite creation was expanded and bastardized by her four brothers who used it to unleash hell on the world. Feeling guilty and responsible, Velma is trying to figure out how to fit in with the gang when she feels responsible for the apocalypse. To top it off Fred has gone and got himself injured so the gang really needs to stick together and tread carefully to survive. Amusing, I'll eventually get around to reading volume three. ( )

It was a long time from when I finished issue 6 and then picked this collected volume up. Another serviceable entry that was fun to read and seems to be gaining its stride. ( )
