An empowering and educational picture book that proves colors are for everyone, regardless of gender. Pink is for boys . . . and girls . . . and everyone! This timely and beautiful picture book rethinks and reframes the stereotypical blue/pink gender binary and empowers kids-and their grown-ups-to express themselves in every color of the rainbow. Featuring a diverse group of relatable characters, Pink Is for Boys invites and encourages girls and boys to enjoy what they love to do, whether it's racing cars and playing baseball, or loving unicorns and dressing up. Vibrant illustrations help children learn and identify the myriad colors that surround them every day, from the orange of a popsicle, to the green of a grassy field, all the way up to the wonder of a multicolored rainbow. Parents and kids will delight in Robb Pearlman's sweet, simple script, as well as its powerful message: life is not color-coded.… (més)

The title of this book catched my attention right away. I think it is important to learn about stereotypes that surround gender; learning that colors don't have genders and if you like pink that does not make you a girl. ( )

This book focuses on the binary colors blue and pink and how these colors have stereotypes that come along with them. Blue is normally categorized as a boy color and pink is usually considered to be a girl color. This book shows that color should not be tied to a specific person or gender. Every color is designed for every person. ( )

This book is great to share with children so they know pick is not just for girls and all colors are for everyone. We are free to express ourselves and like any color we want.

I appreciate any book about inclusion. Another great book for a classroom library- children need more books that represent them. It is important to see yourself in the books that you read. ( )

Using colors and diversity, this book teaches children that it makes no different of the gender, they can be, wear, do whatever they put their minds to. Girl and boys alike are unique and beautiful in their own way. They should do what makes them comfortable and happy. This picture book is full of vivid colors and simple words. A simple read empowering kids that it does not matter the color, life is colorful. ( )
