I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 5* rating. It has a lot to pull you into the story. It has food and pets and dealing with things the Amish way. I never read about a racoon as a pet before. The main characters need to do a little soul searching to find their way. Lots to enjoy in this read. ( ) I'm a huge sucker for Amish Romances, seriously, I cannot help but love them, and I also live in the middle of Amish country, so you would think that they would be the norm for me, but when I first moved to America, they were a magical beings to me, and they still manage to hold that sparkle over me, which I get my little fix, reading all this Amish Romances. The one that stuck out to me lately, has been An Unexpected Amish Romance by Patricia David's, but from reading the blog, to starting the book, there was just something about this story that I loved. The central characters are Helen Book and Mark Bowman; and I have to say, I loved Helen's characters, from the moment she called Mark rude. I think what I love about this book is that they are more true to life, that they have their little spats, and move on, and because I have never read a Amish Romance, where both main character have been jilted! The book is short, but sweet, and you will love all the characters of the book, even the crazy dog and the bow wearing pet raccoon! I give An Unexpected Amish Romance 5 stars I loved this read, it kept me page-turning and when finished I hated to let go. We are back in Bowman Corners Ohio, and friends we have previously met are here, but we are drawn immediately to the young woman crying on the bus, and the man who tries to comfort her, we meet Helen and Mark. I have to say the author gave us several different meetings at first, let’s say food and mud puddles to name a few. We also meet eccentric Aunt Charlotte and her precocious dog and pet raccoon, who work in the matchmaking. Can a girl with a broken heart and a man with an intended and a plan find a relationship between the two of them? The author puts them together in several different ways, some very unpleasant, but some with a good deal of chuckles! I can’t wait for more from this author, and want more visits back to Ohio! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
