A series of short stories weaved together in what is a fairly common style in Eastern Story telling (weaving together but not all wrapped up) but not in Western storytelling. I recommend reading it twice to catch all the different occurences of this.

Personally I love Raj Kamahl Jah's disjointed and objective style, pulling culture and community into the story without making it any part of the actual storyline.
