Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . Received as part of an honest review. Short handy book. Found some stuff more useful than others but could be where I and my children are in their lives. Very helpful to someone getting ready for college, in college, or getting ready to start their career. As a manager, I thought the job search, resume, and interview information very useful to new applicants/hires. ( )Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . I am fascinated by the details surrounding how education and jobs circle around each other to convince us to do one thing or another.
The rest of the book has the typical suggestions for job searching. I did go to some of the websites for exploring interests and skills, which was useful if I ever need to change jobs or careers.
Listening to the audiobook, I felt increasingly daunted by all the things I "must do" if I want to get a job. Btw they are the same as they were in 2001.Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . This book has sound advice. The title made me think it would crush dreams, but instead it provides practical advice for deciding what to do with your life. When I was in high school, I was very overwhelmed and didn't really know what my options were. This book is a good place to start. As a recent college graduate, there are some helpful tips, but I would recommend reading this and thinking through it as a teen.
One thing I would have liked is a master list of all the links and tools the book referenced for easy access.Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . This is a book filled with practical advice for those considering college and career options. It's a quick read, not a deep read, but can lead someone to think openly about the options that are available. It also offers practical advice on what to do when you do get the job. The title led me to believe this would be mostly about pursuing skills over your passion - a subject covered by Cal Newport in "So Good They Can't Ignore You" - but that was only a small piece of this, again, very practical book. Look elsewhere for deep thinking about the value of college vs. skill mastery. Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . This was an LT Early Reviewer. Thank You!!An excellent book for anyone looking for a new job or career direction, but particularly helpful for younger people starting out. Filled with practical advice and LOTS of online savvy and links. Helps evaluate the "loves" of your life (in terms of jobs and skills) and points to where you can actually make money. I am passing this one on to my son and daughter!! Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
