This short 64-page book has familiar characters from Star Trek™ The Next Generation with cats replacing the human characters. The drawings are clear, detailed and distinctly portray familiar scenes that feature one or more of the eleven main characters from the show. The book will especially appeal to Star Trek™ fans who love felines. ( )How can you not like pictures of cats, whether they be photographs or drawings! These Star Trek cats are no exception; they are adorable. Though I am a fan of the original series and the reboot movies, I somehow missed the shows in between, and I’m sure I’d appreciate the drawings more if I had seen the shows the book is based on. Still, the concept is interesting and the cats are cute. Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . Not as much fun as if they were photographed, but still a cute book for those who love TNG and cats. The selection of which scenes from TNG to portray was well done. Particularly enjoyable was Darmok. Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . If you like Star Trek and cats - this is the book for you! I have the previous version of this book, and was glad to also receive this one. Now to wait for the Deep Space 9 version!Enjoy this book - it's great.... Ressenya escrita per a Crítics Matiners de LibraryThing . A couple months back, a funny thought crossed my mind: BORG KITTIES! I laughed out loud and ran around the house yelling "BORG KITTIES! BORG KITTIES!!" The rest of my family didn't really get it. They know I love Star Trek and they know of the Borg, but they didn't see the humor in feline cyborgs. I hopped onto the Internet and did a search for Borg Kitties. Not surprisingly, there were pictures that were futile to resist.I didn't know there'd be Borg Kitties in Star Trek: The Next Generation Cats, but I should have. When I flipped the book to its back cover and saw a cat version of Locutus, I again exclaimed, BORG KITTIES! It's a wonder my family has not committed me at this point. The idea of recasting scenes from Star Trek series with cats is not all that genius, but it is incredibly fun. Parks does an amazing job of drawing classic scenes with cats that match their characters. Particularly stellar were the the know-it-all look of Ensign Ro and the skittish, sweet face of Wesley. The Sphynx in the role of Picard was perfect. I think my favorite panel was the one from "Timescape," where Picard draws a smiley face on the slowly exploding warp core. My only complaint about this book is that the headshots at the beginning of the book excluded Guinan, one of my favorite characters and certainly the most pivotal of the secondary characters in the series; Barclay could've easily been removed in my opinion. This is the kind of book that you read once quickly, immediately go back to the beginning and savor each page, then put on a shelf until you have company over and have to show it off. It's also the kind of book that I think could really only appeal to lovers of both Star Trek and cats. Perhaps I'm wrong about that. Although I respect the Original Trek for what it is and watch it from time to time, my heart really is divided between The Next Gen and Deep Space 9 (it all goes downhill after that.) I'm hopeful that Parks will continue her series with DS9 as it really was Trek at its best, but I know it doesn't have the overall fan base that TOS and TNG had, which may keep that dream from becoming a reality.
