For this second book in Lyga’s Flash series the team splits up. Barry uses the Harness (from the episode where he used it to jump to Supergirl's’ Earth) to try and go to Earth 2 to get help from Harry to figure out Hocus Pocus’ wand. But, winds up on Earth 27, which is very different, and he loses the wand too. He then goes up against Johnny Quick on this Earth, and that has a lot of surprises.
Meanwhile back in Central City on Earth One, Team Flash is trying to track down Earthworm while Cisco is being pulled in a ton of different directions trying to find Earthworm, Flash, and then he gets a visit from… well… other Cisco.
Honestly, it’s so awesomely layered, and complicated. Other Earths, other timelines, and Lyga wove it together so well. We also saw more of Madame Xanadu and maybe the Phantom Stranger, not to mention quite a few familiar faces from Earth 27, and of course, there’s the mystery of who is Johnny Quick on Earth 27.
And then, even explains why the heck Barry and Wally don’t constantly break all the windows when they’re running (I think that’s new, but maybe I missed that explanation on the show?)
It was another awesome book, and I cannot wait for the next one to see what happens with all the cliffhanger-y stuff at the end of this one! ( )
