La novel·la intercala -d'una manera molt eficaç- dos moments de la vida de la protagonista, la Kya: una narració lineal de la seva vida amb el judici que ha de sofrir acudada de l'assassinat d'un xicot del poble, que havia flirtejat durant més d'un any amb ella.
No la puntuo amb més estrelles perquè té molts punts d'inversemblança i cau en maniqueísmes.
La traducció, molt bona, té -estranyament- alguna errada (falta alguna paraula en alguna locució, cau en algun "fals amic"). (
