I vaguely remember this book, but I really ought to reread it and the rest of Moorcock's books soon. They are fast, short reads, with some really fun space/time elements, like Philip K. Dick's stories, but lighter. ( )

Professor Faustaff is a big, sensual American man. He's also in charge of a team dedicated to saving the earths (All fifteen that remain) from being destroyed by shadowy D-Teams that appear to swoop in, destabilize a planet and leave. He assumes that the D-Teams are controlled by a political organization on one of the earths. The truth is far less ordinary.
