This Little People, Big Dreams series is quite a good one. ( ) New in the Little People, Big Dreams series, discover the incredible life of Jane Austen. The text and illustrations show Jane as a child standing and watching her brothers while she and her sister have to help her mother. The author, Isabel Sanchez Vegara’s makes the point that Jane Austen is lucky that her father educated her with the boys he taught so she was able to read and write. She told and wrote stories which she and her siblings acted out or listened to her read long into the evening. Her first novel, "Pride and Prejudice" was based upon an actual situation in her own life, but with a happier ending. This is a child friendly biography that shows a young woman striving to achieve her dream. It is also important to stress that she wrote about strong and determined women at a time that this trait was looked down on. This book could be used to teach young children how to write a biography, show that it is important to have a dream and strive to achieve it as well as to introduce one of the greatest authors of our time to a new generation. A good book for a school library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book to read via netgalley.
