The bears help mom make a pie and they use double digit addition with re grouping to help. ( ) The book is about bears who want to have a pie. The momma bear tells them to go outside and fetch ingredients. So each bear gets some ingredients. The book is mathematical; therefore, the book tells how to count up how many the bears brought back in groups of tens and ones. This book is great for learning to group up numbers. It aligns with the 2nd grade standards. It also deals with place values because of the tens and ones. A Fair Bear Share (MathStart 2) by Stuart J. Murphy (1998) A mama bear promises her four cubs that if they gather enough seeds, berries, and nuts she will make them a Blue Ribbon Blueberry Pie. Three of the cubs go to the forest and get right to work while the fourth cubs plays in the forest and doesn't help. Later, once the three cubs are done gathering the ingredients, Mama Beat says there aren't enough ingredients to bake the pie. Baby bear feels awful and runs to the forest and gathers her share of ingredients. Mama bear now has enough ingredients and bakes her cubs a pie. A Fair Bear is a work of fiction that incorporates math. In this book readers can learn about the math concept regrouping. This book is a illustrated with water color. This book would be good to include with an appropriate math lesson. This book is a good way to show children counting. It shows how to group things by tens and how to show what is left over and then group those. This book also shows children how to pull their own weight. It shows that everyone should pitch in to get the job done because it is not fair for only some to work hard and others to do nothing and still get the rewards. A Fair Bear Share is all about team work and working together to reach a common goal. The four little bears were gathering berries, nuts, and seeds for their mother bear to make a pie. They each needed to get a lot of different berries nuts and seeds in order to have enough ingredients for the pie. One bear did not want to cooperate but when they realized they did not have enough ingredients the bear that did not help went out and picked more berries and other ingredients. They ingredients were divided up into groups of tens so it helps students count by tens. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
