I really did like the world buiding and just how she creates the world and the characters. The mystery just did now wow me yet again. I felt for a book that included murder in the title, murder was jut not the focus of this novel and I just wanted more out of this novel. After 24 books in the series, i am in for the long haul! ( ) I want to be more invested in this series. I really did like the world buiding and just how she creates the world and the characters. The mystery just did now wow me yet again. I felt for a book that included murder in the title, murder was jut not the focus of this novel and I just wanted more out of this novel. After 24 books in the series, i am in for the long haul! It has been a while since I have read a cozy mystery. I picked up this book and before I knew, it I was done reading it. It was a very fast read. The storyline may have focused on Hannah but it was everyone in the town that really made this book for me. I would love to be in a town like where Hannah resides, where everything is so friendly and watches out for one another. They are so wholesome that when the bad guy used a bad word that it was not even repeated due to present company. It would not be polite to repeat the word. This book is the best of both worlds with mystery and baking. There are so many featured recipes in this book that I will be busy for a while trying them all out. Hannah Swensen’s shop, The Cookie Jar, is to be the setting for a program about movies filmed in Minnesota. A chance to reach a larger audience! Who does show up is someone from her personal life, along with an assortment of people that make everyone uncomfortable. Also finding a dead body in her bedroom, doesn’t make the time any better. Since her condo is now a murder scene, she moves into her mother’s condo. She also teams up with a couple of old flames to try and solve the murder. There is no shortage of suspects and quite a few not-too-cool activities going on. A combination that doesn’t make for a lot of unravelling of tangled threads to get to the main strings and the solution of the mystery. The Hannah Swensen series is still a fun, cozy read. What a delightful Valentine’s Day themed cozy mystery read! Blizzards and snowplows and all sorts of yummy Valentine’s Day food… strawberry cake, white chocolate fudge, and pink grapefruit glaze with candy hearts. I love reading all these delicious recipes! And Joanne Fluke puts you right in the thick of snowy Minnesota with its freezing temperatures and icicles and winter storm warnings. Hannah is having a big of a rough time since The mystery in this one was a bit different than usual, but I was on the edge of my seat the entire time nevertheless. The residents of Lake Eden have grown on me with each passing book, and this one wins major bonus points for the scenes with Moisha and Norman’s cat, Cuddles. No matter what happens with Hannah and the men in her life, I’m totally shipping the cats! As Lake Eden forms a protective circle around Hannah, and trouble closes in, she and her sisters bake like mad (Seriously, there was sooooo much baking in this one!) There were quite a few surprises in this one. Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

When The Cookie Jar becomes the setting of a star-studded TV special about movies filmed in Minnesota, Hannah hopes to shine the spotlight on her bakery - not the unsavory scandal swirling around her personal life. But that's practically impossible with a disturbing visit from the shifty character she once believed was her one and only love, a group of bodyguards following her every move, and a murder victim in her bedroom. Now, swapping the crime scene in her condo for her mother Delores's penthouse, Hannah and an old flame team up to solve a case that's messier than an upended chocolate cream pie. As suspects emerge and secrets hit close to home, Hannah must serve a hefty helping of justice to an unnamed killer prowling around Lake Eden ... before someone takes a slice out of her!
