"Quick and super-enjoyable! Kind of like a collection of X-files + moral philosophy + AI + dark web + plot twist mash-up super bonanza! One of the stories in particular, Death By Crowd really stood out to me. It dominates that super-creepy-cause-it-could-be-true vibe." ~ Mara "Time Crawlers is a gripping and fun read. Varun Sayal's writing is incredibly imaginative and original. I enjoyed every second of reading this short compilation of out of this world stories. The author no doubt has done his research well and I really admire his highly imaginative skills." ~ Surbhi "The style of writing is a breath of fresh air and the book as whole consists of all those thoughts a person usually ponder over while free. Nark-astra, The Hell Weapon: The weapons he possesses make him the destroyer of worlds, and he burns for revenge. A high-tech take on ancient Indian mythology. 2. Book Title: Time Crawlers - Stories From Parallel Universes
Author: Varun Sayal
Format: Ebook

Book Title:
The book title ' Time Crawlers - Stories From Parallel Universes ' is exciting and dazing.

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is a pocket watch with an abstract dark background giving a thrilling feeling. Though much cannot be deciphered from the blurb of the book, yet it seems like an interesting read.

About the book:
The book is a collection of six stories that are categorized into six different topics but all fall under into one category called ' Empathy and Humanity '. This book is sure a very different one in its part as it has the usual things like romance, friendship, vengeance, the thirst of power etc and many such emotions but from the darker side. The author has excelled in presenting the dark humor in the story ' Genie ', where the greediness humans, in general, is shown. In the same way, the sadism aspect of watching someone die for fun or entertainment reminded me of the several deaths occurred because of the ' Blue Whale Game ' or the peaks of evil intentions seen in the ' Coin Master ' game and such simulations. The stories ' Eclipse and ' Cave ' take a good ride into the world of Aliens and supernatural things.

It will be inhuman if I talk about in depth of all the stories and especially the first one, ' Nark Astra ' that is the most interesting one in the six as I felt, talking about biochemical weapons with a touch of Artificial Intelligence and the wrath created with a mythology backdrop stands out. Don't miss out reading this book!

What I like:
1. The absurdism, objectivism and abstract take on certain issues
2. The dark truths that are imbibed in every human in the form of greed, sadism, the thirst of power and negativity.
3. The length and breadth of the imagination a reader can experience is amazing
4. Clear and simple language made the read an easy one.

What I didn't like:
1. Though the stories all are interesting, somewhere as the content progresses after the first two stories, there is a lack of depth as seen in the first two stories. Maybe the author didn't want his readers to get stressed out and thus this pace is followed.
2. Very minute editing errors in two or three stories are found which are negligible though but act as speed breakers.

Characters:
The most exciting part of the stories is the characters that in few stories, the characters are either generalized or common nouns are used instead of proper nouns. This is an interesting thing in fictional work.

Narration:
The narration of all the six stories is found engaging as they are written in a one-to-one conversation style but with some depth missing in few stories.

Language & Grammar:
An uncomplicated language with good vocabulary makes the book a good read.

My Final Verdict:
A perfect combination of myth, science, belief, and humor but from the darker side of the universe!

Unique stories related to time.

This book is about the authors imagination of having parallel world. While reading the first chapter I was not able to understand the context of the book. Later I understood it's a short story limited to a chapter. All the stories were good but last two stories intrigued me to complete the book. Author has remixed the stories with future and past like in the last story of praschit who wants to take revenge with the king. One another story was gross where is the people self immolate and there are viewers to watch those. Overall I would say it's a good goodread... 🙂 ( )

[Detailed Book Reviews are available at: https://thinkerviews.com/books/english-books/time-crawlers-stories-from-parallel...

Do you love reading Sci-Fi books/stories? What is the most important or rather I should say the most challenging attribute of the same, according to you?

I consider balancing of Science and fiction in the tale as the one. And, I am open to your views and preferences, as always.

The author has provided us the book to read and share our unbiased reviews and views for the same. And, the views mentioned here are unbiased, genuine and personal, as always.

The book consists of 6 short stories.
1. Nark-astra, The Hell Weapon:
2. Death by Crowd
3. Genie
4. Time Crawlers
5. Eclipse
6. The Cave

All the stories in the book explore different fantasy/fiction backed with Science. The variety of content will engage the readers. For me, the first story is the most engaging and detailed one than the others. The author, while weaving it with the mythology, kept the science part convincing too

The author is very clear when it comes to writing dialogs and weaving science and fiction. He mentions:
There is no such thing as magic. It’s all science. The part of science that you don’t understand will always look like magic to you.

Very true.

A lot of Sci-Fi author goes ahead and takes a liberty to take many things for granted. Often, one needs to do it, due to various reasons. And we cannot blame respective author(s) for the same. Because, if you try to explain the scientific part in too much detail, it might make the story boring and average reader may run away from it! And, there is no point in writing a book, if it is not going to get read by the people.

Death by the crowd is possibly the most brutal story which makes you think that human beings are the deadliest species. Of course, not in terms of might, but in terms of cunningness, brutality, and many other in-human attributes! So, despite living in the social environment are human beings still unable to control the beast within?

The "Time Crawlers" story comes with an interesting concept like "Genie". While Genie is more of a sarcastic story, Time Crawlers is a comparatively complicated one. Some of the interesting lines in these stories will make you glued to the book. Eg:
We are not the biological evolutionary species that we think we are. We are an advanced A.I. embedded in a simple biological wrapper.

Very thought provoking question! On one hand, we see many people argue that probably Gods and Demigods are nothing but possibly the aliens from much-advanced civilization, thinking about mankind as advanced AI robots, is quite interesting! And, the author brings in the things in so crispy manner that you will incline towards his vision!

Overall, Varun, came with novelty in content and his exploration of science is really worth mentioning. If he took reference from mythology and ancient Indian scriptures to give thoughtful names to characters

Rating:
Around 7.5 to 8 stars out of 10. Stars above are rounded off. ( )

“There is no such thing as magic. It’s all science. The part of science that you don’t understand will always look like magic to you.” - great quote.
Book has a lot of interesting scientific theories grouped in six short stories. One was very funny, one was dark and gruesome. One was about some moral choices, one about time readers, one about alien and one about spaceship. I enjoyed all six of them :)
Author obviously has his own point of view on universe and parallel worlds which actually I seem to agree with. ( )

Time Crawlers by Bar in Sayal is a book I requested and the review is voluntary. The book is a handful of short science fiction and fantasy stories. There was one 4 star story and the rest I felt were all 5 stars. They were very unique stories. I think Death By Crowd was my favorite although it was very dark. It was a story that wouldn't surprise me in this day and age! I also liked the humorous story Genie! ( )
