This is definitely a different type of story for sure. Though it reminded me of something I had read not that long ago where what you think you know about the storyline and the characters may not actually be the full picture and you don’t even realize there should be a question about this until quite a bit into the story. Beth is running from her abusive husband. Sabine is missing, according to her husband. Who is who and what is the truth? Lives intertwined lead to an absolute explosive ending. I was not expecting that ending! ( )

Dear Wife is a thriller that keeps you guessing, has plenty of twists and was definitely a page-turner. We are introduced to a missing woman/a woman on the run, and the people who were "left behind", including a husband and a police detective who is investigating this case.

For about 75% of this book, I was very engrossed in this storyline and the main characters. I was interested in learning more about each of these characters and I enjoyed the multiple points of view narrative. Belle definitely succeeded in keeping me guessing until the end, but unfortunately, I felt disappointed. I felt like I had put a lot of energy into a person and storyline that didn't end being flushed out. It is hard to share this review without giving away the plotlines and/or spoiling it for anyone so I am trying to be vague.

I will say that I often feel this way with thrillers so I may just be the wrong kind of reader for some of these types of books. I am a person that likes in-depth characters and knowing the backstories on them. In order to create the "thrill" in this sort of genre, there is usually a big switch up which does usually surprise me but often makes me feel underwhelmed with the story as a whole.

I can see why this will work for many readers and the style of writing is definitely engaging and fast-paced. Thank you to NetGalley and Park Row for an advanced copy of this book, all opinions are my own. ( )

This is really good.
It's not romance, it's a mystery.
It's multiple POV.
The chapters are named to the character whose POV it is but we are not told how they are connected.
The beauty of the book is working out who is who and how they connect so I don't want to comment on that part of the plot to avoid spoiling it.
I loved the writing style, it was different for me, I think it's my first book by this author and I will definitely be checking her previous books.
There are no intimate scenes between anyone.
It speaks of relationships but nothing intimate.
One of the characters, it is quickly revealed is running away from an abusive husband, there are no scenes of violence or abuse but she refers to acts in the past.
It is not relived in memory but she will state what happened so if this is a trigger for you then maybe read with caution.
It's not dramatized or embellished in any way.
There was a lot going on, a lot of secondary characters but it does fit together.
There is a HEA, of sorts.
I felt satisfied with the end. Questions are answered and events resolved.

When I first started reading I thought I'd worked it out but I constantly changed my mind as to who was who. You get to a certain point and it becomes clear, the hints are there when you look back but it keeps you guessing.
When you know who is who it was very gripping to see how it would work out.

5 Stars for this heart pounding read. Wow! This book will put you thru a ton of different emotions...anxious, enraged, suspicious, frightened and hopeful. This is a mystery, within a mystery...one woman missing? Three men searching? Secrets that can’t be told, cause who would listen.

Ms. Belle hits it out of the park again. I loved ‘Three Days Missing’, and need to read ‘The Marriage Lie’...but not right now. I need to let my heart settle back into an even keel.

This story is haunting, it will open your eyes about abuse. What would you do? How far would you go?

I received an ARC of this book. Opinion is mine alone. ( )
