It's not always easy to like them, but Ms. Davenport makes it hard not to love them. Jake and Aggie are their own worst enemies. One broken heart too many has made Aggie jaded. Desperation has turned Jake into a fraud. When these two broken people cross paths It's hate at first sight. Aggie sees an egotistical jerk with something to hide. Jake sees competition and needs to succeed. Neither counts on attraction, but love could end up being the beginning of the end or more than either bargained for. Fumble Recovery is flawed, but perfect. Davenport appeals to the imperfections of the heart and body, humanizing the characters. ( )
