This book had me hooked from the beginning. The line of women, the man on the horse, approaching the complex that, except for the lack of men, did hold mankind’s future and the Helen of Troy, awaiting in her suite for the one man who will break the curse.

War had scorched the earth. Very little was left. Men roamed the country, not really knowing what they want, but taking what they can. The Ambassadors from New York are offering the most tempting of temptation, a beautiful woman, willing to be impregnated, if the male can survive the curse.

Eda, one of the youngest of this complex of women, wanted to know more. She wanted to know what the curse did and overhears the aftermath of one union that feeds her imagination with terror. She sees and hears....

This is the first book by Mark Gillespie I read, and I look forward to more. It held my attention and my imagination. What would it be like to be the man to break the curse? And what will Eda do when she learns the whole truth...
