Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. Welcome to a world where it's all on nothing. Win or lose, give it everything, you've got. Whether she's breaking, seducing or lifting a heart, mine is Kat Mizera's for the taking. Can't stand hockey, but I love romance. Mizera pulls out all the stops when it comes to telling a story. Awesome characters, heartstopping romance and drama that just won't quit. Nate is the culmination of these three factors and so much more. From laughing eyes to broken hearts, Mizera knows how to play the game. Kat Mizera hits it in the net with NATE, the eleventh book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. Rookie, Nate Calloway, meets journalist, Chelsea Baldwin, when she literally falls in his lap. The two are smitten with each other, but there is no way an athlete and a reporter could date. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult audiences. Nate was introduced in the Alaska Blizzard series. Nate is friends with Whitney Sommers. They both met when he was at school in Boston. I adored him in that series. I was thrilled that Kate Mizera wrote his story. Nate is a sweet rookie that you cannot help but love. He suffered a tragedy in his youth who still affects him. I like Chelsea. She is a recent graduate working for the Sin City Observer. She is given the opportunity to report on the Las Vegas Sidewinders despite her lack of hockey knowledge. She is smart, creative, and has integrity. The two have a heartwarming connection. They are adorable together. The novel had a great plot. It covered topics that are important and unfortunately happens too frequently. The characters face significant obstacles and grew as a result. I love how the team supports Nate. Kat Mizera continues to do a great job with this series. I highly recommend this book to people that enjoy sports romances with relevant issues. This being the sixth book in a series, and hardly the author's first set of works, I expected better. But I did not get better at all. It's nicely formatted, but it cries out for an editor who loves red pens and demands excess verbiage and nonsense phrasing be upgraded to meaningful prose and unique, intriguing phrasing. And cut out the annoying repetition!
I think a lot of authors don't know how FAST readers read. We'll remember, okay?
MISSED POTENTIAL:
Both these characters are demisexual, but the author seems unaware what that can mean. As a demisexual, I assure you it's no hardship to avoid sex until you get your emotional needs met. It's as common for men as women, just commit to it already.
