When this book was published in 1986, it provided welcome relief from patterns written for worsted and aran weight yarns. As the title suggests, the patterns are based on traditional designs from the British isles. Most of them are still appealing, and it is now much easier to find suitable yarns. One problem is that the sizes are small - even the men's patterns tend to go no larger than 42" - so pattern modifications might be required for today's plus size population. ( )
