I felt like Molly darted from "I shouldn't do anything more with her because this is a bad idea" to "I'm doing more with her" in the space of a few pages without a lot of thought put into the transition. I did really like this romance though, and I felt the ending was supremely satisfying, just the initial steps felt a little rushed to me. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

This novella basically functioned as competence porn for me, with two independent women quickly dispatching all the problems of patriarchy and the British class system in one fell swoop. I really enjoyed that this was a story about the dignity of labor, not in a bootstrap-y way but in a women-getting-stuff-done way.
As a romance, it wasn't quite what I was looking for - I always prefer slow fraught emotion over easy resolution, so perhaps the novella pacing just didn't suit me. But Alice and Molly were super cute, and I'm rooting for Sebastian to write a full-length f/f romance.
I am desperate to know more about Mrs. Wraxhall, who is the quiet fairy godmother of this piece. Characters with alcoholism are so often villains in historical romance, so it was refreshing to have "husband in rehab" as a background note. I could really go for an estranged-to-lovers romance about these two!
