Game of Thrones: The Complete Series

Harsh political intrigue and gripping fantasy action in a grimly and (mostly) realistic medieval-inspired world. A series which started out brilliantly, and then got more and more uneven as it moved further away from the source material. The final few seasons are sadly a huge step down from the first few, but the decline is rather slow and gradual in my opinion, and even at the end of the show, it was quite good compared to most ambitious television dramas -- just rather terrible compared to itself in its heyday. Still worth checking out if its even in the vicinity of your kind of thing, but be mentally prepared going in for a much weaker final few seasons. ( )
