I have always wondered about why Debbie's books top the best seller list again and again, and this book stole my heart as I struggled with Willa's decision to try to step in her deceased mother's shoes and raised her sister and her brother since her father was so grief stricken! The sisters are totally opposite and when Harper beats her illness, she wants to take risks that she always wanted to do, but Willa has put her life on hold to nurture her siblings and she can't imagine falling in love! ( ![]() The Lakey sisters are perfect opposites. After their mother died and their father was lost in grief, Willa had no choice but to raise her sister, Harper, and their brother, Lucas. Debbie Macomber has another amazing read in A Walk Along The Beach! This ebook that I received from my library has all the elements, a very emotional storyline, a devoted sister drama, a love story, a beach town read. Cancer is a very dreaded disease which I can attest to since I lost my husband to leukemia! Love abounds between the two sisters, Harper and Will a, and also between Willa and Sean! I fell in love with Sean, a very caring character, so like my husband. Thank you Debbie Macomber for writing such a riveting book! It's difficult to rate a book like this! It's a romance novel with a wonderful Pacific northwest setting. The catch? Cancer... I hate this C word. So in a way it was depressing. I don't think I was in the mood for that part of the story. Overall I liked it, except the C. A Walk Along the Beach was written in memory of the author's best friend [a:Christina Skye|71875|Christina Skye|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1319022751p2/71875.jpg].
