Abigail makes a birthday wish for a pet. Her brother suggests a dog, Dad suggests a hamster, and Mom suggests a bird - but Abigail's heart is set on a tree (a dogwood, of course). For a while, she brings the tree on walks, and it sleeps with her in her room at night, but eventually, of course, it gets too big, and finds its new, permanent home outside in the yard. See also: Sophie's Squash; Strictly No Elephants This book is so cute! Abigail is trying to convince her family and friends that trees are the best pets. It has a hint of humor and teaches the reader about loving plants. She then has to come to realize that she can't keep her tree inside forever. It gets too big, so she has to plant it. But she realizes that trees are even better than she thought! They are home to animals and look great in the yard. At the end of the book, there is a list of websites that kids can use to learn about trees and how to plant more. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
Abigail defends her pet choice, explaining that Fido the dogwood tree keeps her cool during the day, listens when she tells him to stay, and even gives her air to breathe. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
