It was heartbreaking, it was riveting, it was light juxtaposed with dark, and it was redemptive. The storyline is complex, to say the least. The characters are flawed but also warriors. The dad might be one of my favorite characters. The way he loves his daughter? Priceless. Alex and Silver are beautiful together. They heal the splintered broken parts of the other and make the prettiest missing filled with kaleidoscope colors out of those broken pieces. The villain, Jacob, in this story is definitely not a good guy nor is he redeemable. He is repugnant but he served his purpose well in the story in making it so that everything Silver goes through has a chance to be healed via Alex. I highly recommend this series and anxiously await for the next book, even though I am not sure where else this story can go considering it ended with a HFN ending in my opinion.
