S'està carregant… A Case of Cat and Mouse (2020)de Sofie Kelly
![]() Cap No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. ![]() ![]() A TV baking show has brought a competition to Kathleen’s little town. It’s all fun and good until one of the judges turns up dead with her face in a bowl of whipped cream. It’s an intriguing tale that will keep readers engaged in the story. Kathleen eventually adds up the clues, but not before endangering her life. The magical cats are the stars of the show, and in this case, they are more than mere entertainment. One of them is vital to saving the day. This series never gets dull, and I alway look forward to the next installment. The cats and the human characters are all delightful, the stories are well written, and the resulting combination is wonderful. Things are really hopping in Mayville Heights as the town readies itself for a reality baking show to come to town. Librarian Kathleen Paulson is busy, busy, busy as she works to help with historical research for the show. The whole town seems to be in on the event! But..... (there is always a but when it's a cozy mystery!) One of the judges is found dead. As if death by whipped cream isn't bad enough, there is no shortage of suspects because the dead woman was a real b .... pill. (No cussing in cozy reviews ha ha) Can Kathleen, with the help of her two awesomely magic cats Hercules and Owen, catch the killer before the festivities are completely ruined?? And....will her sleuthing end up getting her killed? Awesome new book in the Magical Cats series! I love these books and eagerly await each new book or short story! Hercules and Owen are great -- their antics make these books fun! Kathleen is an intelligent and enjoyable main character. And I like all the background characters from Mayville Heights. The mystery and humor are entertaining. The story kept me engaged the entire time. There were more than enough suspects in the whipped creaming incident. All in all, an enjoyable read! I can't wait for the next book! **I voluntarily read a review copy of this book from Berkley Publishing. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.** Latest in the Magical Cats series of cozy mysteries, this is what one has come to expect from the series: smart and talented cats, a sassy small-town librarian sleuth, and all sorts of shenanigans. A smart, fun, and remarkably peaceful read. No surprises but also no disappointments. I did figure out the killer slightly before the main character--which is highly unusual for me--but it didn't detract from the fun. Recommended. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

"When a reality TV crew comes to the peaceful town of Mayville Heights, librarian Kathleen Paulson and her two magical cats see more than their fair share of real-life drama. Spring has come to charming Mayville Heights, and with it, some Hollywood glamour. The little town is abuzz because the reboot of a popular baking TV show is filming there. Librarian Kathleen Paulson is working as an advisor on historical facts for the show, local restaurants are providing catering for the camera crews, and Kathleen's faithful felines, Hercules and Owen, are hoping there is a cat treat challenge. But then Kathleen finds one of the judges dead. She has solved many-a-murder with help from the supernaturally gifted Herc and Owen, and with the whole town on tenterhooks, the talented trio will have to have all paws on deck to chase down this killer"-- No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
