Beth March is a character that has influenced me through my life...6th time. ( ![]() I can understand it if some reading this today consider it to be insufficiently woke, but I found it quite remarkable. It is a bit disappointing that the dreams of independence planted in the first part of the novel aren't fully realized in the second, but that supports the message that in the passage from childhood to adulthood something is inevitably lost. That message is timeless, and I haven't seen it done better then in Little Women. I've read Little Women countless times, but this is the first time I've read it since I got married. This time around, there are aspects of the human heart that just make more sense than they ever did before. I have always enjoyed watching all of the classic movies but for some reason never made the time to read the books! So this was another book on my adventure to read more classics! This book definitely did not disappoint! It was beautifully written and absolutely hilarious in parts! Also, it came off very "real life" like. (At least for life back when it was written!) I thoroughly enjoyed the character development and how mundane a life it was. I do love action, sci-fi, and all the other adrenaline pumping genres! Yet sometimes I just want to cozy up and listen to a book that's so simple and yet so beautiful. For those who love classics I'd definitely recommend! (Although, let's be honest, you've probably already read this gem!) For those who love contemporary or historical books I think this would also be a great book to read! Timeless in so many ways Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
