Lady Lucie is fuming. She and her band of Oxford suffragists have finally scraped together enough capital to control one of London??s major publishing houses, with one purpose: to use it in a coup against Parliament. But who could have predicted that the one person standing between her and success is her old nemesis and London??s undisputed lord of sin, Lord Ballentine? Or that he would be willing to hand over the reins for an outrageous price??a night in her bed.

Lucie tempts Tristan like no other woman, burning him up with her fierceness and determination every time they clash. But as their battle of wills and words fans the flames of long-smoldering devotion, the silver-tongued seducer runs the risk of becoming caught in his own snare.

As Lucie tries to out-maneuver Tristan in the boardroom and the bedchamber, she soon discovers there??s truth in what the poets say: all is fai

These are clever and funny. Dragged just a bit ( )

Loved this so much! I adore a good Suffragette romance and both books in this series has delivered in spades. The analysis the group does on the hero, the smarts of all the characters in this book entranced me. Really appreciated the nod to NRE (New Relationship Energy) and I'm such a sucker for stories where the hero has loved the heroine forever.

I loved the last quarter of the book - I've already re-read it twice. Utter brillance.

Having the H/h work at a publishing company together and having the hero keep secrets reminded me of another book I loved: The Suffragette Scandalbut no worries, this is not a copy. Just another opportunity to introduce people to an author and series I love. If you loved this book, check out Milan's. ( )

A thoroughly enjoyable book, the author proves she can indeed write very strong and yet distinct characters with aplomb. BDTD was one of my absolute favorites last year and despite the characters are still so vivid even a year later.

Luce and Tristan are no different. I love Lucie. She is a tough woman who knows what she is fighting for and is good at it. I so love the sismances (can't wait for the next two books!) and I appreciated them quite a bit here. I so loved reading about how Lucie learnt to let down her walls and start trusting. Tristan is that "almost" cliche HisRom lead who is a "rake but not really one" but he was still so freshly written that I absolutely rooted for him. Case in point one of my favorite scenes of his was his last scene with Arthur. There is nothing I enjoy reading more than a ML that supports the FL and I was cheering with Lucie when he did just that. Their chemistry was so scorching and that's another thing that the author does so well. I do not want to go into specifics but I also really liked the ending that was not out of character of each lead and yet gave me a real sense of HEA. ( )

I liked this one less than the first one, but I still enjoyed it. ( )

I LOVED this book like a lot. In my opinion, it was better than the first one. I loved Lucie’s and Tristian’s characters. I loved that they knew each other since they were children. I loved the banter and the “enemies to lovers”. I love how good the author is at building sexual tension between characters. It is well done. This story was so cute, and I can’t wait for the third book. The preview of the third book has me wanting it right now. ( )
