Renae Brumbaugh Green’s Lone Star Ranger is a light-hearted, faith-filled adventure—with a strong-willed heroine, rugged Texas-Ranger hero, and a case of mistaken (notorious outlaw) identity. Elizabeth Covington has just arrived to town, when Texas Ranger Rett Smith arrests her brother for murder. She knows her brother committed no such crime, so she determines to prove his innocence—much to Rett’s chagrin. Can she find the evidence she needs (while staying safe from danger) to save her brother? And will Rett even believe her enough to free him? As all this adventure mixes with romance, Lone Star Ranger makes for a quick, enjoyable read. Historical readers are sure to have fun with this story. I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. It is August, 1877 and Elizabeth Covington's life is about to change. A trip to Houston, Texas with her brother Evan turns into a rip-roaring adventure when he is accused of being the notorious criminal James Weston Hardy and Elizabeth is forced to prove his innocence. Add one Texas Ranger who is sure that Evan has killed several people and you have a book worthy of any Western story that you've ever seen on TV or in a movie! Lone Star Ranger is filled with mystery and adventure but there is also humor and laughter as refined and proper Elizabeth works to prove that Evan is not a murderer! I enjoyed the interaction between Elizabeth and Rett Smith because this determined Texas Ranger is constantly challenged by five-foot-eleven Elizabeth and she is more than capable of defending her brother! But then, as they are thrown together in dangerous situations, Elizabeth and Rett realize that their differences may not be as strong as they thought. This is an enjoyable story of determination, faith, and learning to fully trust in God. If you enjoy Christian romance and historical fiction set in the Old West, you will want to read Lone Star Ranger by Renae Brumbaugh Green. I received a complimentary copy from Celebrate Lit Book Tours but I wasn't obligated to write a favorable review. The author has placed this story in old Texas and this is a rather rough lawless time, and the local sheriff and Texas Rangers are kept busy. A brother and sister still reeling from the recent death of their beloved father are taking a trip to help find closure. Then the unthinkable happens, and makes you wonder how often things like this really did happen? Thus, the story is born and you really don’t know if the truth will arrive in time, and or if all will survive, and we face some tough terrain and people, but I loved the faith of these folks! This is a very fast read, and it quickly became a page-turner, I needed answers! I received this book through Celebrate Lit, and was not required to give a positive review. Imagine coming west with your brother who is your only living relative only to have him arrested because of mistaken identity. Then imagine having to find the real hardened criminal essentially by yourself. But God has a way of laughing at our plans and ideas and in the midst of this chaos, Elizabeth Covington may find more than she ever imagined. Texas Ranger Rhett Smith simply arrests the man he believes to be a murderer and hardened criminal but winds up finding a woman he may want to spend the rest of his life with unexpectedly. The dynamics between the characters help bring this book to life. The feelings and emotions make the pages come to life. The lengths Elizabeth is willing to go to save her brother is believable. The added dimension of a female reporter who wants to do more than just report of things her boss believes women should write about adds extra depth to this story. Personally, I want to read more about these characters and see Elizabeth’s brother find his soulmate as well. So if you like historical fiction, check out this book for yourself. I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Elizabeth Covington will get her man. And she has just a week to prove her brother isn't the murderer Texas Ranger Rett Smith accuses him of being. But he can't let the Boston beauty sway his senses to set a guilty man free. When Elizabeth follows him on a dangerous trek, the Ranger vows to keep her safe.
