Julia's House Moves On is a sweet picture book by Ben Hatke.

Julia's house is full of misfit creatures, but it's seemingly not all that happy with itself lately. Suddenly the house starts moving on it's own! But don't worry, Julia always has a plan.

Honestly, the illustrations are gorgeous. It's whimsical and fun, everything that you want in a children's picture book. This book would be great for a fun story time session or as a great read before bed!

Julia and her lost creatures are getting restless. They seem ready to move on. But all of Julia's best laid plans are going by the wayside. What is she to do??

It's a great concept of a book. Going with the flow. And the illustrations are my favorite. Yet I just don't find anything that grabs me. It's not bad. It's not great. But it will have a place with some readers that is for sure!

Everyone in Julia's House for Lost Creatures is restless. It's time to move on-- but Julia has a plan. Unfortunately, the turtle underneath the house has a different plan. Julia turns out plan after plan, but they don't work out... until at last it's the creatures who come to her rescue.
(I would love a full size illustration of the Queen of the Sea.) Sometimes you have to let other people make the plans and do the rescuing, Julia. ( )
