The humor in this book is both silly and nerve wracking. When I read, “liar liar pants on fire “....I was totally done. Corn at its best. Thanks but no thanks. Give me Edward X. Delaney any day...he’s for mature adults. (

"Mystery" of an era gone by and perhaps never existing.
Dated in plot, writing style, and most actions by most of the characters.
Very light reading - good for an interlude between more serious crime/thriller writers.
Library Thing reviews of the book are pretty accurate and consistent with my take. (

I don't know if I'll read anymore of these because I don't really like Archy McNally. I find him more aggrevating than charming. I know I'm in a minority. (

This is a quick, enjoyable read. The main character is a likable rake. The other characters are all interesting and the story has enough twists to keep you going. I'll be interested to read more of the series and see where it goes. (
