Very good Millie Johnson is fast becoming another go to author for a feel good story. I have read a few now, and none of them run to the usual chick lit formula. There is always a touch of magic, but the emphasis is on friendship and kindred spirits, with romance on the side. This story is no different. The arrival of a new boss means the four women who work in Bakery are encouraged to get to know each other more. It really shows that all female teams can work together and become close if the chemistry is right, without descending into bitchiness (which does sometimes happen). OK, so it is a lot unlikely in terms of the men who they fall in love with, or the scenarios they find themselves in, but at the same time you can see how some events, especially surrounding Dawn, can actually happen, and there before the grace of God go we! A good read, a book once started hard to put down, and worth reading! Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

When Christie blows in like a warm wind to take over their department, five very different women find themselves thrown together at work... Anna, 39, is left reeling after her fiance's departure with a younger woman. Then there's Grace, trapped in a loveless marriage. Can she prevent 33-year-old Dawn from making the same mistake? At 28, Raychel would seem to be the happiest, with a loving husband and their cosy nest for two. But what dark secrets make Raychel so unwilling to open up? Under Christie's kindly hand, the girls know they have some difficult choices to make. Indeed, none of them quite realised how much they needed the sense of laughter and loyalty that abounds when five women become friends. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
