It's been over a year since the first lockdown and I don't want to hear about Covid-19 ever again. Unless it's Žižek talking. This book is short (a pamphlet, really), to the point and really important. It was also written just a month into the pandemic, but it is still very current (there is a part 2 I need to get on to asap).

This is a collection of essays that playfully touch on all the things that we have been obsessing about since the pandemic started. As expected, Žižek makes a strong case for systemic change. We need a new way of doing things, to save ourselves and the planet.

Unfortunately, a year into the pandemic it seems like humanity has once again chosen the "civilized barbarism", putting a higher value on the abstract of the market economy than the survival of the weakest.

This is Žižek at his best, funny, lucid and strangely optimistic. I do miss him being more provocative, but in a book like this that would be out of place and he is aware of it.

In the light of climate change, there have been many calls for the global government and the change of the destructive neoliberal economic model (most notably by Chomsky in 2019 - [b:Internationalism or Extinction|52170427|Internationalism or Extinction|Noam Chomsky|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1574743215l/52170427._SX50_SY75_.jpg|72999976]).

The Covid-19 pandemic only made it more clear that such a change is absolutely crucial. Unfortunately for many in the West, the bogeyman of "old communism" is still very much alive and may destroy any attempt of such change. But, the power of crisis is that it makes things seem possible because the crisis will inevitably cause change, as we have all witnessed over the last year.

The question is simple: “Will the epidemic be reduced to another chapter in the long sad story of what Naomi Klein called “disaster capitalism,” or will a new, better-balanced if perhaps more modest, world order emerge from it?”

So is the answer: “A common sooth now in circulation is that, since we are all now in this crisis together, we should forget about politics and just work in unison to save ourselves. This notion is false: true politics are needed now—decisions about solidarity are eminently political.” ( )

Dieci articoli scritti per giustificare le scelte dittatoriali imposte alle popolazioni occidentali nei tempi bui della cosiddetta pandemia del coronavirus. Argomentazioni fallaci e ripetitive raggiungono picchi inarrivabili

"In un'epoca di epidemie è necessario uno Stato forte, perché i provvedimenti su larga scala devono essere attuati con disciplina militare (come la quarantena)"

"L'unica via d'uscita è la fiducia reciproca tra la gente e gli apparati statali"

"Il primo vago modello di un tale coordinamento su scala globale è rappresentato dall'Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità da cui non provengono sproloqui burocratici ma raccomandazioni precise proclamate senza panico"" !!!

"Quello che ci ha uniti trova espressione nelle prescrizioni che impongono l'autoisolamento"

Magnifico esempio di neolingua orwelliana, utile per capire come i bankster moderni addormentano le masse. ( )

Série simpática de artigos mais jornalísticos em fórmula e tamanho de Zizek, escritos no calor do início da pandemia e agrupados para leitura rápida, afim de pensar fora da caixa (ou dentro da caixa zizekiana) sobre a situação envolvendo o covid-19, nos perigos do negacionismo, da oportunidade da extrema direita de culpar imigrantes, da onda anti-chinesa e o que deve ser criticado da política pública chinesa, dos derrapes ideológicos de agamben e companhia, a acentuação da exploração de certos tipos de trabalhadores e a solidariedade através do isolamento. São pílulas bem vindas, mas talvez tudo seja lido rápido demais e assim logo esquecido. ( )

يذكر المؤلف في بداية حديثه مقولة لهيجل يقول فيها : ( كتب هيجل أن الشيء الوحيد الذي يمكننا ان نتعلمه من التاريخ هو أننا لا نتعلم شيئًا من التاريخ ، لذلك أشك في أن الوباء سيجعلنا أكثر حكمة. ) هذا المعنى صحيح وواضح لكل من اطلع على تجارب الانسانيه عبر العصور لكن يبقى "الفيلسوف الاكثر خطورة في الغرب" سلافوي زيزيك وامثاله ممن وهبهم الله الحكمة علامة فارقة في التاريخ، ان تكون في وسط المشكله وتستقرأ المعضلة والنتائج والحلول انها ميزة يتمتع بها اصحاب الرأي السديد من الفلاسفة وانا لا اوافق العظيم ستيفن هوكينغ حين يقول : ( قلل الفلاسفة من نطاق استفساراتهم لدرجة أن فيتجنشتاين ، الفيلسوف الأكثر شهرة في هذا القرن ، قال: "المهمة الوحيدة المتبقية للفلسفة هي تحليل اللغة".[A Brief history of time ] مؤكد انه يقصد الفلسفة بمعناها الكلاسيكي اذ يبقى داخل كل مفكر فذ فيلسوف بطريقة او باخرى.
الكتاب الذي بين يدينا فيه الكثير من الاسئلة والاجوبة على قلة عدد صفحاته يرد فيه الكاتب على من سخروا منه حين قال ان الحل للخروج من الازمة يكمن في اعادة الشيوعية، وهنا يصف هذا الاقتراح ( هذا كل ما أعنيه بـ "الشيوعية" المطلوبة اليوم ، أو ، كما قال ويل هاتون: الآن ، أحد أشكال عولمة السوق الحرة غير المنظمة مع ميلها للأزمات والأوبئة سيضمحل ويموت بالتأكيد. لكن شكل آخر وهو الذي يعترف بالاعتماد المتبادل وأسبقية العمل الجماعي القائم على الأدلة سيولد. )

الشيوعية لمواجهة الكارثة او البربرية هكذا يصف الحل الاخر ( إن علامات تقليص التضامن غير المشروط يمكن ملاحظتها بالفعل في المناقشات الجارية ، كما هو الحال في الملاحظة التالية حول دور "الحكماء الثلاثة" إذا أخذ الوباء منعطفًا أكثر كارثية في المملكة المتحدة: حذر كبار الاطباء انه يمكن حرمان مرضى NHS من الرعاية المنقذة للحياة خلال فترة تفشي فيروس كورونا في بريطانيا إذا كانت وحدات العناية المركزة تكافح من أجل التأقلم مع الاعداد المتزايدة. بموجب بروتوكول يسمى "ثلاثة حكماء" ، يضطر ثلاثة استشاريين كبار في كل مستشفى إلى اتخاذ قرارات على تقنين الرعاية مثل أجهزة التهوية والأسرة ، في حالة اكتظاظ المستشفيات بالمرضى ".
ما هي المعايير التي سيعتمد عليها "الحكماء الثلاثة"؟ تضحية الأضعف والأكبر؟ وهل هذا الوضع لن يفتح المجال لفساد هائل؟ ألا تشير هذه الإجراءات إلى أننا نستعد لتفعيل أكثر منطق وحشي لبقاء الأصلح؟ لذا ، مرة أخرى ، الخيار الذي نواجهه هو: البربرية أو نوع من الشيوعية المعاد ابتكارها.)

ايما كان رأيك في اقتصاد السوق الحر الا ان الازمات السابقة التي تعرضت لها السياسات النيو ليبرالية حول العالم ستجعلك بالتاكيد تشك في مدى نجاعة هذه الطرق.

استطيع ان استعين هنا بالاقتصادي اللامع ها جوون تشانج اذ يقول في كتابه Bad Samaritans ( إن حقيقة عولمة ما بعد عام 1945 تكاد تكون العكس للتاريخ الرسمي. خلال فترة العولمة الخاضعة للرقابة المدعومة بالسياسات القومية بين الخمسينيات والسبعينيات ، الاقتصاد العالمي ، وخاصة في العالم النامي ،كان ينمو بشكل أسرع ، وكان أكثر استقرارًا وكان توزيع الدخل أكثر إنصافًا مما كان عليه في العقدين ونصف العقد الماضيين من العولمة النيوليبرالية السريعة وغير المنضبطة. ومع ذلك ، يتم تصوير هذه الفترة في التاريخ الرسمي على أنها فترة كارثة لا هوادة فيها للسياسات القومية ، خاصة في البلدان النامية. إن هذا التشويه للسجل التاريخي يتم نشره من أجل إخفاء فشل السياسات النيوليبرالية .)
