I really enjoyed reading this book! It tells the story of a young boy named Ira who is planning on attending his first sleepover at his friend Reggie's house. Ira is nervous because he usually sleeps with his teddy bear Tah Tah, but he doesn't want to bring the teddy bear to the sleepover because he thinks that Reggie will make fun of him. Even though his parents tell him that Reggie won't make fun of him, his sister insists that he will. It turns out that Reggie has a teddy bear of his own that he sleeps with as well.

As a realistic fiction book, children can easily relate to the uneasiness that Ira was feeling about wanting to bring his teddy bear to a sleepover. I think it also demonstrates how we shouldn't always assume how others will react to things that we do! Be your own person and do what makes you happy! ( )

SUCH A CUTE BOOK! So glad I took the reccomendation and read this book, it was precious. Ira is afraid to go to his first sleep over because hes he will get made fun of for bringing his security item; a teddy bear. His anxiety is relieved when he realizes his friend also has a teddy bear with a "silly baby name" that he sleeps with at night too. This is a great book for students who are struggling to feel like they fit in or students who suffer with anxiety similar to Ira's. ( )

This is definitely an older book-Ira would be named Hunter or Rock or Trey if this was published today. However, this was a great book for kids struggling with their first sleep overs and still using/having a comfort toy. It would also be a good campion piece to Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems.

This is a great little book that talks about Ira who is going to his first sleepover. He is fretting about taking his teddy bear fearing that he might get made fun of. Come to find out that his friend sleeps with his teddy bear as well. Kids can relate to the stress of going to their first sleepover and adults can relate to the feeling of wanting to hang on to something from their childhood.

This classic book describes the feelings a boy, Ira, processes as he questions his own behaviors and choices, only to learn that he's not so different than others after all. Ira is looking forward to spending the night with his friend, Reggie, but when his sister teases him about possibly taking his teddy bear to the sleepover, Ira begins to rethink his plan. He decides to leave his teddy bear at home. After a fun-filled evening, Reggie tells a scary story once they're in bed. Reggie pauses and gets his teddy bear. Once Ira realizes this, he knows that it's okay for him to feel more secure with his teddy bear, too.
