I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. If we go by The Ghost Variations, perhaps the afterlife is not so different from life; perhaps ghost carry with them the same frustrations, longings, absurdity, or dignity. Kevin Brockmeier tells us 100 campfire stories that are unequivocal talking about something else. The reader cannot help but wonder who the real ghosts are, them or us? ( )
