But my local library handed to me and thus, wolf freak that I am, I read it. It's a good book. It moved a bit too fast for my taste, but I think that's due to the age range and not the fault of the author. That and its part of a larger series. Books aimed at this age range tend to be more like arcs in a larger novel than stand alones. I did enjoy most of the characters. The only thing I'd have liked to have had was a glossary of the "wolf" terms. It was a bit distracting. I would have likely loved this book and been obsessed with when I was 6-10. It's a good book for wolf fans. Foalans life has stepped up a notch, with a new enemy in the clans of the beyond and the crime of cubnapping nothing is going well for the wolves. The Macheath clan is extrmely obsessed with abuse, power, and war. They are the dictators of the beyond and wish to rule all speices of animals in the beyond. Their first step to their evil sucess is to kidnap a bear cub. then spark awar between bears and wolves and finally fulfil their wish. This whole novel has a great amount of suspense, drama, and action. Im planning on reading Kathryn Laskys final book: Spirit wolf. After reading the first two books of this series, I was looking forward to the third one. In this book Faolan, the wolf finally travels to the Sacred Ring of Volcanoes to become a Watch Wolf. With him goes Edme, former gnaw wolf from the MacHeath clan. The book shows their arrival and months of learning at the Watch. They encounter a terrible plan from the MacHeaths to destroy the Wolves of the Watch and are a major key to interrupting that plan. Just as in the first two books of the series, the story in this one is fascinating and catching. Edme gets a more important role in here, changing from a beaten, grovelling wolf to one who fights for her believes, not giving up. Faolan gets more and more mysterious, with things happening around him, that he himself doesn't understand and which make the reader even more curious about the destiny this wolf will have. The writing style is easy to follow, the language not too complicated, apart from some wolf terms, which the reader has to know to understand them. I would say, this is a really good read for everyone who loves wolves or animal fantasy in general. I also think that children will find Faolan's story from a lost wolf, who doesn't know where he belongs, to a strong, loyal character interesting. The only thing I think a bit disappointing is that you don't get a list of wolf terms at the end of the book. Some terms you might remember from the other books, but it would still be helpful to have a list of them. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Faolan, poised to take his place as a member of the revered Wolves of the Watch, may be the only one who can stop Dunbar MacHeath and his clan from provoking a war between the Watch and the bears. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
