Brooke always said that his one true love was the sea... but he never guessed how right he really was. Wild as the seas he ruled, Poseidon was never one to listen when he was told to curb his wild ways. Passionate and untameable, Poseidon's rages were as terrifying as the storms he whipped across the oceans of the world, but when he calmed, there was nothing to match his beauty. When the goddess' rebellion divided the pantheon, Poseidon took refuge in the sea, and spent most of his time away from Olympus so he would not have to face the cruelty of the goddess' betrayal. After centuries of loneliness, Poseidon is once again absent from Olympus and unable to hear his brother's call that the oracle's promise had been fulfilled. But Poseidon has other things on his mind, a Californian surfer named Brooke Hart... and he can't seem to get the memory of the shy blond's eyes out of his head. Brooke is a quintessential California surfer. Blond, tanned, and toned... but he's also incredibly shy and avoids the limelight whenever possible. When one of the brashest, loudest, and cockiest surfers on the beach shows him some attention, it's easier just to run away and take solace in the ocean until one day, his desire to be alone puts him in more danger than he could ever imagine, and his rescuer is none other than the Surf God he'd tried so hard to avoid. What he doesn't know, is that Patrick is an actual god, and he must make a choice between his lonely life, or an option that seems too incredible to believe. Rip Tide is book 2 in the New Olympians series. 32,000 words, with a HEA featuring a shy, loveable omega an alpha-god to claim him. ~ NEW OLYMPIANS ~ Book 1 ~ Lightning Strikes (ZEUS) Book 2 ~ Rip Tide (POSEIDON) Book 3 ~ By the Book (HADES) Book 4 ~ Swift Wings (HERMES) Book 5 ~ Marble Heart (ARES) FREEBIE ~ Immortal's Wish (Holiday novella) Book 6 ~ Eternal Fire (HEPHAESTUS)… (més)

Poseidon finally gets to find his spark! He tried doubting what was going on with Zeus and didn't want to get his hopes up about ending his loneliness. It all makes sense in his world, though, when he meets Brooke. Brooke is a professional surfer who feels most at home when he is in the water, and that is a perfect match for Poseidon. Brooke meets "Patrick" and is instantly attracted to him. They have an immediate connection, but Brooke fears the feelings he is starting to have for Patrick. Everything Poseidon can offer Brooke is exactly what Brooke needs. I liked watching them get to know each other. There is definitely more to the overall story here with the other brothers and the curse, and I can't wait to see what happens next. Very interesting series, and I am loving the story.

I really like CJ Vincent's take on Greek mythology. It's definitely something different, and I always love something a little different.

Poseidon loves the sea, of course, and he thinks that he will just let the sea be his love forever, forget his brother Zeus talking about finding the spark who can be their life partner and survive the curse cast on them by the goddesses, and just live his life. But, it's never that easy, because there's this surfer guy...

Brooke loves the ocean, it's the only place he feels at home. He'd rather spend the time out on the water surfing than do just about anything else. In order to do that, he has to do competitions because he can't afford to live any other way. He's got a roommate who manages him and pushes Brooke to do things that he might not otherwise do. After his latest win, a gorgeous man named Patrick came up to talk to him, and that was all she wrote.

OK, first of all. I totally hate Brooke's roommate. He's totally using Brooke things that they are best friends. I guarantee that he's benefitting more than Brookie is. I think Patrick/Poseidon and Brooke are such a cute couple, so stinking cute. I hope that they have all the most awesomest adventures and life.

I can't wait to see Hades fall. It will epic, I'm pretty sure. ( )
