Glad I picked these back up again, some very fun reads! ( ![]() Another great book in the series. This book would be good for primary. This book is about a boy who has a dream that he is traveling the world with castles and dragons. This book is also wordless and is left to many interpretations about the story. This would be good in the classroom to help kids and their imaginations. This wordless book takes us through the dream journey of a young boy, mixing reality and fantasy into beautifully striking illustrations. This book would be great for 2nd grade-5th when looking at foreshadowing and studying details of the whole picture, although I would also use this book for upper elementary students on a lesson for surrealism, pairing it with a project to be creative and explore their own surrealism art. You could also disassemble the book (if possible) and create almost one long timeline as each picture spills into the next. I was't that impressed by the first book in this series, The Monkey's Raincoat. So I skipped the 2nd and went on to the third one, and like it a lot better. Now that I've read number four, I'm hooked. The humor is a little toned down, and fits much better. The story was a lot more involved and interesting, but still easy to follow, a good feature for audiobooks. It was so good, I'll probably have to go back and read the dreaded second book at some point. I may even go back to one I read years ago, before I joined Goodreads. This story was not only exciting, but it was somewhat thought-provoking. A group of cops got in over their heads, and try to cover it up digging themselves deeper and deeper into a big pile of manure. But they were mostly not bad guys really, but it turned out that they had to do bad things. This is probably not unusual for the police, and it's perhaps a good thing to remember if we find ourselves judging them too harshly. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

"A thoughtful and powerful page turner."--PeopleElvis Cole is just a detective who can't say no, especially to a girl in a terrible fix. And Jennifer Sheridan qualifies: Her fianc , Mark Thurman, is a decorated LA cop with an elite plainclothes unit, but Jennifer's sure he's in trouble--the kind of serious trouble that only Elvis Cole can help him out of.Five minutes after his new client leaves his office, Elvis and his partner, the enigmatic Joe Pike, are hip-deep in a deadly situation as they plummet into a world of South Central gangs, corrupt cops, and conspiracies of silence. And before the case is through, every copy in the LAPD will be gunning for a pair of escaped armed-and-dangerous killers--Elvis Cole and Joe Pike."Elvis Cole provides more fun for the reader than any L.A. private eye to come along in years."--Joseph Wambaugh "Elvis lives, and he's on his way to being crowned the king of detectives."--Booklist No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
