Carse’s obscure but brilliant book Finite and Infinite Games, which provides the basic idea for this, Sinek’s take on the subject. And here let me pause this review, and say you can save yourself the ten minutes it will take to read it and the handful of hours you may waste slogging through Sinek’s wittering: if you just set Sinek’s book aside — it is one, in Dorothy Parker’s terms, to be thrown aside with great force — and immerse yourself in Carse’s magnificent original you will be far, far better served. To be sure, Carse demands much, much more work (it’s a short book, but boy is it dense) but it is so worth it. Talks about Finite vs Infinite Mindset. More of a thought-provoking perspective or philosophy to life/business, rather than a strategy book. You'll learn: • The differences between the Finite Game and Infinite Game, and between the Finite Mindset and Infinite Mindset; and • How to play the Infinite Game with 5 key practices: champion a Just Cause, build Trusting Teams, learn from Worthy Rivals, display Existential Flexibility, and lead with Courage. The question is, how do we play to succeed in the game weâ??re in? In this revelatory new book, Simon Sinek offers a framework for leading with an infinite mindset. On one hand, none of us can resist the fleeting thrills of a promotion earned or a tournament won, yet these rewards fade quickly. In pursuit of a Just Cause, we will commit to a vision of a future world so appealing that we will build it week after week, month after month, year after year. Although we do not know the exact form this world will take, working toward it gives our work and our life meaning. Leaders who embrace an infinite mindset build stronger, more innovative, more inspiring organizations. Ultimately, they are the ones who lead us into th No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
