מחקר כלכלי חברתי סוצילוגי פופולרי, מבוסס על ראיונות עם מאות אנשים אח"מים ופשוטי העם. מאורגן לפי נושאים בפרקים. כל פרק בנוי על ריאיון אחד או שניים כאשר הדברים מובאים בציטוט עקיף. הנושא מעניין אבל הכתיבה שטוחה ולא מרתקת. שיטת הראיונות גורמת להרגשת ניתוק וחוסר מעורבות ומאידך כל האנשים נשמעים דומים ואחידים בגלל המעבר דרך המסננת של המחבר. נשברתי כ-100 עמוד לפני הסוף. (
