I couldn’t put this one down! Terrific! The series gets progressively stronger as it continues so I know picking up the next and final book will be both highly satisfying and heart wrenching at the same time. ( )

I highly recommend the entire Seaside Cafe series for anyone who wants a light-hearted and charming series to read. I love hearing about Everly and her adventures when I'm feeling down. Partners in Lime was no different. I would recommend starting with the first book if you are going to read the series. Check it out! ( )

    Number 6 in the series.
The romance between Grady and Everly continues although with major bumps in the road. He has come around in his attitude about her interference in his cases but she can't get over the 'curse' on her family. Just when I thought Bree Baker couldn't tear me up any more after the devastation in book 5 she did it again. I literally cried in the penultimate chapter and thought I could not go on. It destroyed me. I had to read the ending twice before I could stop and catch my breath. Can't wait for # 7 ( )

Publisher's blurb is pretty good, and the story does work as a stand alone. Everly Swan operates a tea shop in her small town filled with relatives and friends. She seems to have inherited a family "curse" in which the beloved of a Swan woman is doomed to a short life. Well, Everly has loving feelings for the town police detective and friend feelings for the local EMT (retired pro surfer). A pro surfer shows up in town and turns out to be the EMT's old enemy. When the guy turns up dead all the apparent evidence appears to point to the EMT. Let the sleuthing begin! Good story for a summer afternoon with all its twists and red herrings.
I requested and received a free temporary ebook copy from Poisoned Pen Press via NetGalley. Thank you! ( )
