The book reads rather awkwardly and would (in my opinion) be more enjoyable without any words whatsoever. ( ) (easy, picture, fiction, early reader) Margaret Wise Brown does what she does best and in the most simple of ways, she tells about christmas ever all through a child's eyes. As I read the book, I recalled feeling, seeing and doing the same things on christmas ever myself as a child. How wonderful it was to recapture those memories again if only during a brief reading of this book. A good book to read aloud during the holidays. A good discussion what be to ask the children what they do or like best on christmas eve. On Christmas Eve by Margaret Wise Brown In the big, quiet house where parents are sleeping, the children wait and listen, thinking of reindeer and angels and stars. Then, with no sound but there own thumping hearts, the children creep downstairs to see the glorious tree and to make a Christmas wish. Have student write about a special Christmas they remember. School Library Journal This is a great book to get your students excited about christmas. It is about children anxious on christmas eve going downstairs to see if they had presents. They see the Christmas treee so beautiful with their stocking filled to the top and then they hear the song Silent Night. You could incorporate a music lesson with them and as a class could sing the song together. This book is about young children anxious for Christmas to come. It is Christmas eve and the children sneak out of their beds to look at their presents and hear the carolers sing. There is good detail and descriptive words in this book. It is probably not smart to read this book to a class. A lot of schools will not allow religious holidays to be read about. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
