I really liked the first volume, but this one loses a little shine as it mostly just repeats the same beats from the first book, right up to the cliffhanger. I still like the characters and the balance of humor to action, so I'm hoping this is just a short sophomore slump and the story breaks out of the loop and starts blazing some trails. After reading: *surprised Pikachu face* still a lot of fun! I do know what I actually liked in this one. I'm a sucker for a training academy. Also friendship!
