Sweet Talk is lovely and just like the title sweet romance revolves around Eliot and his anonymous contact Miss Wrong Number, two insomniac night owls, falling for each other as they talk every night and get to know each other more. The story is about family, friendship, love, loyalty, kindness, trauma, and insomnia.

I highly suggest you don’t skip first book as this started a week before Vera’s expo and covers the week of her expo and a few days more after it so there will be spoilers of the first book here and you wouldn’t get those during expo scenes. It was amazing to see snippets of the first book here through Eliot’s perspective and meeting Vera once again. Both Eliot and JD are developed and their love for their family is amazing.

Eliot is the heart of the book. JD is mysterious. Her anonymity made me more curious to know more about her.

Romance between Eliot and JD is sweet. I enjoyed their chat over dating show and their guessing games with points. It was lovely to see them turning from strangers to friends and much more by the end of the book. I loved every conversation between them.

I loved theme and message in this which makes it is a little different from the first book. It also includes a little heavier theme of trauma and dealing with the grief of a dying parent. Author perfectly balanced this serious topic with light and fluffy moments. There is a message about loyalty and accountability as well. I agree with what JD’s dad and Eliot said.

Again the narration is brilliant with a full cast and perfect sounds of messages, rings, car passing, doorbells, club music, and all background noises. I’m so in love with Chris Brinkley’s voice and I’m totally listening other books he narrated.

Overall, This is lovely, heartwarming, and clean romance, a bit serious than its predecessor with a good theme and layers. ( )

This was just a perfect brake from the last two thrillers I read. It gave me all the right feels, cute, quirky and funny. I laughed and cried, I absolutely love the characters and the way they met. I remember a very long time ago meeting someone through a mixed up number, so I fully connected and it made me feel nostalgic. The narrators did an awesome job, I almost felt as if I was watching a full ROM com movie in my head. Love, love, loved this. ( )

Certainly not my typical read but sometimes simple, fun, and cute fluff is exactly what I need. ( )

Confession time: I've developed quite a reading addiction lately. And it's not just any addiction; it's the kind that leaves you craving for a four-star read but always falling short. With six books on my plate for review today, it's evident that I've been keeping myself busy in the world of literature. However, finding that literary spark, that heart-fluttering connection, has been elusive for quite some time.
But then, serendipity struck, and I stumbled upon a series that sprinkled a touch of magic into my reading routine. It all began with a rom-com that started with the infamous wrong number. What ensued was pure dynamite – the kind of chemistry between the characters that sparks fireworks. The plot, oh, the plot! It had me hooked from the very first page, making it impossible to put the book down. In fact, I was so enamored that I couldn't resist downloading the audiobook as well, just to experience it all over again.
Elliot and JD's relationship feels as natural as breathing, and that's what makes this series so special. It's a story that resonates with the authenticity of a real-life love story. Now, I must confess, I'm not typically a "romance girl," but this series has been a delightful departure from my usual diet of thrillers and horror novels.
If you're in the mood for a series that will sweep you off your feet and provide a refreshing break from the norm, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this one a try.
