"A by-the-book literary agent must decide if happily ever after is worth changing her whole life for in this insightful, delightful new novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation. Nora Stephens life is books-she's read them all-and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby. Which is why she agrees to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for the month of August when Libby begs her for a sisters' trip away-with visions of a small town transformation for Nora who she's convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story. But instead of picnics in meadows, or run-ins with a handsome country doctor or bulging-forearmed bartender, Nora keeps bumping into Charlie Lastra, a bookish brooding editor from back in the city. It would be a meet-cute if not for the fact that they've met many times and it's never been cute. If Nora knows she's not an ideal heroine, Charlie knows he's nobody's hero, but as they are thrown together again and again-in a series of coincidences no editor worth their salt would allow-what they discover might just unravel the carefully crafted stories they've written about themselves"--… (més)

I was hooked from the very first page. The emotions, the banter, the setting… all just amazing. I felt as if I was escaping into another world reading this book. The biggest thing I took away from Book Lovers is that a happy ending looks different for everyone. And that is not just ok. It’s perfect. ( )

I loved this story. It got a little wordy at times, the banter between the two main characters stressed me for a bit, but the pace picked back up. I really enjoyed how it was all brought together at the end. ( )

Nora is a literary agent and Charlie is a book editor. They are both very career oriented and prickly, and naturally they end up on a crash course with each other in this story.

I really liked the first half of the story. Both of the main characters are pretty grumpy, and especially Nora suffers from being viewed as an ice queen because of how committed she is to work. The first half introduces the characters to each other as well as the reader, and there's a lot of witty banter between the characters.

The second half finds the characters givin into their mutual attraction, and for me some of the allure of the story was lost there. By no means bad, but somehow I just didn't buy into the physical chemistry between them, and the conflict wasn't super interesting to me. I do like that there wasn't any classic misunderstanding issues and the characters actually communicated with each other, though.

I liked this suprisingly much, and I think I'll be giving a shot to Henry's other books as well, in the future. ( )

So good!

I usually read fantasy romance but have beeb hearing a lot about this book. I really want to earn my kindle challenges badges so I downloaded this for the summer reads category and absolutely devoured it in a day. I love the banter. I was laughing out loud, but parts also made me teary or my heart ache. Truly a great read.
