My only disappointment in the story is the endings where everything seems wrapped up much too quickly and the characters and situation become a shell of what the rest of the story was. She needs to take her time and develop the ending to make it as rich and fulfilling as the rest of the story. I have noticed this has been a trend with the last several books. ( )

Contemporary paranormal from Feehan. While the writing style is very similar to the Carpathians, it's a totally different feel and dynamic. Fast paced. Overloaded with emotional baggage. And....I'm done with the series. ( )

Jack and Ken Norton have fired my imagination since the first book they were mentioned in. I was thrilled that Ms. Feehan had written stories for them back to back and so early in the series. I have a soft spot for the tortured hero and both of these men are definitely tortured. I also fell in love with Briony. She has endured so much and been so brave when faced with pain and sickness day in and day out. This is also the first book that made me realize that there will never be any redemption in my eyes for Peter Whitney. The man is wholly evil and desires to be locked up and in a tiny cell were is overly active mind will slowly drive him to complete madness. After what these three characters as well as Dahlia and Flame have been through Peter Whitney shows has hatred for all of the people that he has experimented on and I think he has a special hatred for women. They seem to suffer more than the men do at his hands. Ms. Whitney can't get rid of this man soon enough. I was glad that Briony was able to see what a good person Jack was. I was also glad that she was able to see Ken for who he is and not be frightened of the scars. ( )
