Good lord, the summaries for these are terrible. This ain't the one about "The Silver Ziggurat"...it's the one (as noted on the cover) about "The Mayan Mutations" and it's drawn by Val Mayerik, not Buscema.

Anyway, this one was fun. It started out almost horrifyingly sexist but, for once, the beautiful women (there's always a beautiful woman) don't go all googly-eyed and weak-kneed for Doc, which is a refreshing change.

As per usual, the science is wonky and, because it's written by a Marvel writer, a touch too comic bookish, but no one is ever going to mistake a Doc Savage yarn—no matter who it's written by—as high literary art.
